This morning driving to work I had a bad surprice: Elvis’ voice was gone ! 
I’ve tried to delete and reinstall the app (3.1.1 for Iphone) but he didn’t come back…
Is the King dead ? :shock:
What country are you in? In the US, for iPhone, we only have the option for Male or Female voice.
The Elvis option shows on my phone, if you set the level of guidance to mimimal. Don’t know if its working as I keep the level of guidance set to full.
The voices are still there, but only under minimal guidance, so no spoken street names. That is because these are pre-recorded sound files and Full guidance uses a text-to-speech engine.
I’ve tried to switch off navigation guidance (I was only able to find an “on/off” option in the sound menu), this way there are more English voices in the general menu but no Elvis :?
I live in Italy, last time I used Waze the Elvis voice worked perfectly…
I know it’s not a very big issue, Waze is still fantastic, but I miss the funny touch of Elvis’ voice 
The way they have this set up is a terrible UI with sound settings in three different menus! :x @ Waze, not at you.
If you are using the Waze 3 app, under Sound, there is an item for “Navigational Guidance.” Set it to “Directions Only” which will then display as “Minimal” back in the Sound menu. Then go to the General menu and there is an item called “Navigational guidance.” Why in two places? :x Tap on that and select English (Elvis) from the list. If you don’t see Elvis in that list, then … I don’t know what the problem might be. It should be available in the World server infrastructure.
Note that the “Navigational guidance” in the General menu will not appear if you have Navigational Guidance in the Sound menu set to “None” or “Including street names” (Full).
They have a dedicated UI person, but I have no idea how they can call this a good settings interface.

The Elvis voice never got old for my kids. They would listen to him every day and laugh at his sayings while we were driving around town and now he is gone… maybe Google maps wasn’t so bad after all.
