Feature request: Short text summary of a performed edit

Hello,

I’ve been using the Waze Map Editor for a few weeks now to correct issues in my hometown. However, some of those changes got reverted, quickly, and I think that the reason is that the “higher-ups” thought that I did some vandalism, especially when removing nonexistent roads. I’d like to propose a solution which might be quite simple to implement without bothering people too much:

When saving a batch of changes, please offer a dialog to let the person doing the edit explain what he did and why, similar to Wikipedia (they got a small field below the edit box for that). For example, if I edit a road from two-way to one-way, because of construction work going on, it might look like vandalism to the supervisor who might just be unfamiliar with that region. I usually resort to creating a Danger Zone landmark with the reason for my edit, which is not actually elegant to do.

So please, add a small summary dialog after clicking the save button.

Thanks

Cheers
flo

Notes are coming. Not in testing yet, but it is planned. Also, a notes box for every object will be available too.

And while there are no Notes, I would suggest to open topic in your forum and describe the problem or short edit reason.

I’m glad to see that this feature is in the works. I have several areas around me that have undergone construction and altered the flow of traffic. I have gone in and made changes to reflect how traffic now travels but someone goes in behind me and changes it back to match the outdated satellite image. I’d like to be able to leave a note that the area no longer matches satellite imagery.

In that situation, you should consider getting it locked at level 5 once everything is correct.
