[Feature update] U-turn prevention » Preventing U-turns

We’ve gotten confirmation from staff that automatic U-turn prevention has been disabled in the US.

This means that the wiki needed updating from focusing on the automated U-turn prevention mechanism to Preventing U-turns with JBs.

The following pages/sections have been updated so far:

I do think we might want a small section in JB mentioning one of the explicit reasons for adding JBs is for Preventing U-turns (rather than the old overriding U-turn prevention).

Please review the changes made for any typos or improvements that were missed during this morning’s flurry of implementation. Also, please feel free to post additional instances of transitioning the wiki from U-turn prevention for community input/review.

it is in the second bullet on where to use-

    • To prohibit U-turns in one or more directions on median segments between divided roads at H or # intersections

I noticed the Routing Penalty page did not show the removal of the double left/right U-turn penalty.

I made an adjustment to the original page update from Nzahn1 to move the updated information to a message box. That was made into a subpage template that can be transcluded into any page that needs that note using this below format on the page in which it will be transcluded.

{{:Editing Routing penalties/Controlling U-turn penalties/Disabled}}

I then added that template to the original page on which it fell.

And added to the page that was missing the update.
