Footpath mapping - Herts

Hi Guys
I am not sure where to put this, so I though the Editor Request forum would have to do.

We have a new editor covering an area of Hertfordshire with footpaths, and leaving them half done.

https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=row&lon=-0.18303&lat=51.81814&layers=2023&zoom=3

I found all this while experimenting with running the validator.

Does someone with more experience than me want to have a word?

I shall contact the editor concerned.

Hi Iain
Thanks for taking this. I have not been involved with Waze long enough yet to advise others on what they should and should not do. I am still learning myself.

Is it ok to delete all the unnamed Walkways to tidy the Map Ian and Iain. Since I have some editing rights due to driving down the A1 on Boxing Day.

Not often a script light the map up like that.

I’d rather they were left for now.

The PM to the other editor is still in my outbox, so it hasn’t been read yet. New editors often end up adding a lot of walking paths and car park lanes because they don’t find much else to do - but they often demonstrate detailed work that suggests an attention to detail we can use.

Although some new editors take PMs about this sort of thing the wrong way, some understand what we are getting at and are willing to learn. If this editor returns to the map and finds all their work simply removed, they may be unhappy.

If I haven’t heard back in a week or so (and I’ll post here if I do), I guess ianinessex should have first refusal on tidying up, since it’s worth points and because he reported the problem appropriately.

Thanks for the update and the offer of being able to make the changes. However I only went to this area once just under 3 months ago and so I don’t know it very well and will soon lose the rights to do any changes there.
I am more than happy to leave it to someone closer who knows the area. Having just added the WME Toolbox, I am finding more than enough to do in the local area I know well.
