What type of edits grants the most amount of points, and how can I check my progression?

I’ve moved your question to the Norway forum as each country may have different ways to handle level ups. Generally speaking to reach level 2 you need to make 3000 map edits, but be careful not to just massively edit only to reach it quickly without caring about what and how you edit, quality edits are greatly appreciated by community leaders.
Someone who edits a lot, thinking they are helping, can sometimes be making damage to the map without realizing it and may be blocked from leveling up or from editing in worst cases.
