Greeting From TEAM SEA

Hello our fellow Wazers in Thailand.
Its good to see that Waze is getting it popularity among the Thais.

To begins with, I would like to introduce myself to the community.
I m MdSyah from Malaysia. I started with Waze way back in 2011.
Presently I m managing Malaysia/Singapore/Brunei.

As far as Thailand is concern, I sometimes come and see out editors doing some edits around Southern Thailand. Other than doing a minor touch up on there edits, I usually leave it to the local community to do the edits. As a neighbor and in the Spirit of ASEAN, I feel, if there a need for me to give a helping hand, I m ready to offer my help to the Community in what ever way I can.

On the other hand, I think this is a good way for me to learn something new from you guys too.

Best Wishes to all Waze Community in Thailand.

Regards

Hi guys,
During the recent MapRaid we noticed a growing enthusiasm from Raiders to stay and help. We’ve decided to channel this spirit, set up a good Wiki & rulebook and start self-management, all at the same time. A group of approximately 60 international Wazers has joined us in the process. As we’re now assigning areas to AMs, the work behind the screens seems to be done (for now), and we feel the time is come to present ourselves to our neighbors. We are looking forward to good relationships in our part of the Waze world and also like to thank you for your past and future work on the Thai map.

One of the things we’ve encountered is that there are quite a few people who have Thai (CM-) editing rights from before self-management was introduced. For those concerned we kindly ask to make themselves known to us. So we can incorporate those people in the new Thai management and communication structure.
I’m sure you understand the importance of not wanting to have rogue editing done. So please step forward so we can find a mode for future cooperation.
You can reply here or PM me or one of the other (new) Thai CM’s. We are in the Thai Wiki.

Thank you
Dutchdirt (Peter van Bragt)

Hello people from Malaysia, I am one of the country managers, and region manager in the southernmost part together with prosql. We’re eager to get everything in the hands of Thai people, and we invite everyone to join us!

Baldugaras from Waze Philippines and Team S.E.A as well. I’ve had editing rights in Thailand since Feb. 2015. Please reach out to me if you have questions.

We use the Waze Thailand Facebook page for community updates for both editors and wazers - similar to what we have done in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Philippines.

Greetings to all the SEA members.

I look forward to working with many of you - including the southern neighbors in Malaysia. Macumbamacaca and I will likely reach out soon about coordinating things along the border. We look forward to the local knowledge there!
