Hazard spamming by Elgin - is this legit?

There is a user in our area who is very heavy-handed with hazard warnings and does not remove them again: ELGIN. As a result, the area gets littered with them when no longer relevant. As a user I cannot flag them as “not here”, all I can do is comment so I guess this person is an uber-user. One example is an entry to “replace damaged mesh panels” on the A127 at Rayleigh Weir which has been there ONE YEAR (and the works took only a few days and were non-disruptive anyway). Another example is the Basildon Nevendon junction as per the attached. Is it really necessary to place 8 or 10 hazards? Is there not a rule that drivers don’t want anything happening on the road or kerbside, only those things that manifestly affect traffic flow. I don’t need to know if someone is surveying some traffic lights but I do need to know if a lane is blocked. What we have here is hazard pollution and drivers are starting to need to ignore the warnings…

Would this thread be for your area: https://www.waze.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=146014

Thank you. I’ll go there. Close this.

ELGIN is not a person: Looking at reports on Waze, it says they were submitted by ‘Elgin’, who I initially presumed was just another Waze user, until I discovered Elgin are the developers behind the roadworks.org website and it appears this data is being used by Waze.

Has this issue anything to do with the wiki?

It does not.

I’ll lock this old topic and move it where it belongs - in the UK local sub-forum.
