I have “collected” a UR which is a bit beyond my “beginner level” editing knowledge. It is at https://www.waze.com/livemap?lon=0.46618&lat=51.7393&zoom=17
I think the problem is to do with filtering lanes prior to the turn off, but I have not yet investigated how these are set up and work, and need to do more wiki reading on this. I am also concerned that these are very busy main words and do not want to request access without being sure what to do.
Is anyone willing to either take this over, or spare the time to explain it to me so that I can do it “under instruction”?
I can give you a few tips but can’t edit in this area, whoever unlocks it for you will keep an eye on it and wont let you mess it up. :lol:
Look at the Wazers route, note the keep left arrow near middle right and note that purple line is Wazes suggested route, the green line is the route the Wazer drove, note they turned left too early.
Turn off the road layer so you can see the aerial view with road markings clearly - zoom in.
Verify it in streetview, note streetview dates to verify that road layout is still current.
In this case (and I don’t know the roads here but suspect Streetview is still current) I believe we need to give a keep right instruction at the previous junction where the Wazer went left (or kept straight on depending on how you view it).
So what you need to know is how to generate a keep right instruction. I could tell you but it might help you more if I let you work it out.
The clues are because the road curving round to the right is a highway type road and the road to the left is only a primary street then Waze will assume that the natural route is round to the right and therefore doesn’t give any instruction.
Road names are also involved at these type of Y junctions. If the bottom part of the Y and the right fork are the same name and the left fork is different then Waze also assumes that the right fork is the same road and the left fork is turning off. In this case the minor highway before and after the junction has no name - this is counted as a match.
The final point to consider is the angle that the segments branch off relative to the starting segment.
Have a read through the interactive junction algorithm which I find a great help and this page, if you are anything like me you will have to read them carefully several times :? and if you are still struggling come back and shout.
Thanks for taking the time to write the comprehensive reply. I had seen one of the references, but struggled to understand it. I will now read them slowly a couple of times and see if it sinks in.

OK, now I have read the wiki pages several times, here is my proposal:
Change / add the names of the various segments on the junction (the whole sort of large roundabout) such that they are the same name before the junction and the new name after the junction. This will create the break point in the navigation. Make sure there are no “un-named” segments to confuse matters.
Draw a slight right hand kink in the road immediately after the junction (mirroring the existing left hand kink in Broomfield Rd), to again create the break in the navigation.
Between these 2 they should cause a “keep right” warning leading up to the junction and supress the “keep left” which is for the next junction.
How does this sound?
New question, how can I test the changes before saving to make sure it works correctly.
There are several ways to do it but I think the simplest is to turn the first few metres of the B1008 Broomfield Road into a minor highway and delete the road name. This will mean all three segments have the same name and are the same road type, you don’t need to change the road angles. This will be enough to force keep left and right instructions because as far as Waze is concerned both roads leaving the junction are of equal importance and it can’t tell (because they both have the same name - in this case no name) which is the logical natural continuation of the previous road.
I assume you know how to do this, press i to insert a road (or select from the menu), click just to the left of the kink in Broomfield Road, then attach your new road to the kink. Now delete the road you have just drawn. Select the bit before the kink, change to minor highway and delete the name. Check it all. Job done.
If you make the changes you suggested then you will have to check very carefully that by fixing one problem you have not created many others. :lol:
