Help with house numbers

Help please.

This UR here, is complaining that the location of 12 Kingsbury Close is incorrect. Yes, it’s off by a few yard, so I’ve tried to locate it more accurate on the map. The current location is being obtained from Google Maps. This is actually the second time this house number’s been reported, having thought I’d fixed it the first time.

Thing is, I’ve now tried adding a house number via the House Numbers function (done 17th May), and adding a Residential Place (done 30th May), and neither seem to be overriding the Google Map address on the app. I don’t have the search cached in my recent, so it’s not that. The street itself was also adjusted on the 17th, so a tile update should have been triggered.

Does anyone have any suggestions how this can be fixed?

I’ve now also seen a similar problem here, but without the first one being fixed, I’m not sure what I can do with this.

Searching for “12 Kingsbury Close Bury” in the app, and then tapping the search button to access the full set of results rather than just using the real-time list, brings up two results - the “Kingsbury Close” one which also appears in the real-time list and which navigates to the Google Maps location, and a “Kingsbury Cl” one which navigates to the house number location you’ve added here.

I’ve seen this behaviour elsewhere, including a road which, like you, has recently generated a UR for the same address as one I remember fixing (successfully as I recall) some time ago, so I strongly suspect that something has changed once again behind the scenes in the way Waze handles the battle for supremacy between its own location data and that provided by Google, at least as far as house number searches are concerned…

Thanks Chris, definitely one way to confuse the user. So, the next question: does Waze know about this issue, and if not, can the champs bring it up with them?

I’ll have a look through CentreCode to see if anyone’s logged it already.

There was healthy discussion of the priority of search data at last years conference, I’m sure there will be again this year

I was just replying to the UR, and now I can’t find the house number in the correct place again. It’s only returning the incorrect Google Maps location:

Not half an hour ago, I did this same search and two entries for 12 Kingsbury Cl, Bury where showing. I give up sometimes! The system is so inconsistent.

And right now for me, it’s only returning the correct Waze location… I wonder if the results change depending on which routing server you’re connected to at the time you perform the search, or if it’s just down to pot luck as to what you get back?
