House numbers in villages where the streets have no names

Hi,
What is your best advice/practice in such a case. WIKI defines, that only named street can have house numbers. There is a lot of villages in Poland with no named streets but with house numbers. We have been testing two sollutions:
every village street have the name of the village,
places (for every building).

First one works OK, second not necessarily.

We would like to define general rule for Poland so please advice.

Or it is worth to wait (and listen U2  ) for the next WME version were the numbers of houses can be added to the street without the name?

Marcin

Have you tried Private (residence) Places? https://twitter.com/WazeMapping/status/540128371812753409

Private places only adjust stop point.
They are impossible to find if there is no house numbers or addresses in Google.

In my post I wrote what we was tested (city name as a street name and place feature).
Some more about usage of Place (point) feature:
Place (point) is added in place of the building, the name is the city name with number, in address only the city name. The problem with this solution - there is no ā€œprivate residenceā€ or ā€œappartment houseā€ or similar category (eg. in ā€œotherā€ you can find only ā€œconstruction siteā€ and one of our editors is using this category for the appartments houses so Warsaw is turning to be under re-construction  ) - ā€œappartment houseā€ was in a previous version of WME and ā€œoldā€ buildings are OK.

So coming back to the point:
What is your opinion on both of solutions and which of them is better from the point of view of WME rules?

Here is example of using both of them for one house:

Don’t you have buttons to switch from ā€œpublicā€ to ā€œprivateā€ like shown here: https://wiki.waze.com/wiki/Places#General_tab

Private places will/should override any Google result. If there are no house numbers, how would you direct someone with your voice? Do houses have names?

@ CBenson, the problem is that searching with use of LiveMap (so probably the same in application) it can not find village name with the number both filled in address field (ā€œprivate versionā€) when you ā€œby passā€ it with use of ā€œpublicā€ name it can. some of our Wazers has reported, that it is not working in application, personaly, I have never search for the house with the number with no name of the street.

@ Alan - it seems that is no overriding (or I am not test it properly or I am wrong). Each house has at least the number, sometimes it can have a name but in such a case for sure it has number and the name is rather known by the local society not by Google (except historical ones).

So, what is best practice in your countries? In our WIKI we have defined the rule, that in such cases we use ā€œplacesā€ (private or public), but part of our society is reporting that it is no working (as I wrote above) and they are adding the names to the no-name-streets of the villages and than they are adding the numbers. (I don’t like that solution).

That is why I posted the question about advice/practice and so on.
Or I am ā€œtoo old to rock ā€˜n’ roll too young to dieā€

No, not too old. There must be some kind of solution available, as they appear to have done it in Costa Rica. (Heavily community mapper-led.)

Given you have many posts and are a Level 4 editor, I am sure you have already discussed this in depth within your Poland country forum?
