[The road isn’t very obvious on the satellite image, but it is there, and there are around 8-10 houses on it.]
However, all the houses on it have names, not numbers. For example, the final one is called “Hazelbury”. (Official address: Hazelbury, Station Road, Grove, OX12 7PF). I can’t find a way to add this as a house number, so how to I add houses to this road to indicate that it is a real road that people live on?
I believe in the number field you can only enter whole numbers (integers), ie only using 0 to 9, so no 3a or house names etc.
I believe the only way to add house names is via a place point, however I would suggest that unless you know for sure which house is which then I wouldn’t bother because the postcode points to the road you just added so people should be able to find it OK.
I would mark the road as private and remove the street name because IMHO Station Road is the main road not this little private drive.
