How do you see previous pings? I closed a ping before I could read it since I was driving. And now I can’t find it. I am using the Android client.
Was wondering the same thing myself. I haven’t been able to figure it out.
Pings are just directed chit-chats.
So if you don’t reply immediately. Look in the current reports and find it under chit-chats.
Is there a way to see ones that are no longer in the recent events page?
Not that I’m aware of.
I thought they appear on the map for some time. It’s at the location you or the person you pinged were at the moment of pinging.

By pressing on the exclamation mark at the top of the screen you can review all events and pings and then you can scroll down to the ping which you’ve missed

I’m an iPhone user… I can’t find my previous received pings anywhere…
At the exclamation mark page, I can only find chat messages…

Pings ARE chats. So it will be listed under there.
I can’t find the ping under chats, very confusing…
They only last an hour and after that time they are (currently) not archived so there is no way to retrieve them!

I experienced the same today. A ping I received showed up on the map in the client as chit chat, but wasn’t visible in the chit chat list of the report list. I had to go via the map to open it again.
Do you try to find it soon after you received it?
My experience is that they don’t show in the chit chat list till the next 2 minute refresh happens.
Yeah, I tried like immediately, after 5 minutes and after 15 minutes.
Same experience here too. I missed a ping because I was sending one at that moment. The recent report window didn’t report it, neither did the map at the location I was. And I don’t know who pinged me (or answered my ping) so I couldn’t look up chats on his/her location.
I would opt for a decent ping history window in which you can browse your own received and sent pings.
