How to disable HOV feature

How do you turn off the HOV feature? When I go to Navigation, I only see the ability to add passes. I need to turn the feature off as I find it useless. First, it does not recognize the newer HOV lanes with dashed lines for constant entry/exit. Then in the areas I travel in Southern California with standard HOV lanes, it tells me to enter or exit the HOV at every opening rather than just staying in the HOV for my entire trip. While very annoying, and I can ignore it, it also shows my next activity as that entry or exit every minute or so, rather than the activity at the end where I leave the HOV for good. While I don’t need this on my daily commute since I know where to go, I now don’t trust it to go to places I don’t know the route. This is just for free HOV lanes, I don’t use any toll roads.

To be specific, part of my daily commute is on the 5 freeway between Ortega Hwy and Alicia where about half of it has been changed to dashed lines so you can enter and exit the HOV lane at any time. Waze does not recognize this as HOV and does not tell me to enter until it changes to double double lines. The other issue has occurred between Alicia and the 55 freeway where the HOV is all double double lines with periodic breaks to enter and exit every 1 or 2 miles. At each opening, Waze either "Stay to the left " (enter the HOV) or “Stay to the right” (exit the HOV). Of course while it’s doing this, I’m not getting any time or distance info on my actual exit coming up.

I enabled the HOV feature when it first became available, but I see no place in the menus to disable it.

The HOV is not set up as a feature you can enable or disable. When you are given a route, you have the option to select an HOV route if you ask Waze to display alternate routes.

I will look at the Ortega Hwy to Alicia Pkwy to see if there’s a missed setting.

Have you submitted, or can you submit, a report while driving at one of the places where Waze directs you out and back into the HOV? There’s no need to add a note, just remember that you can only respond to reports via the app or the web interface when we ask for more details. Responding via e-mail does not work.
