I did see it but thought someone else might answer. I’ll draw the attention of the other country managers. My first thoughts - depends on the frequency of impassability (if that’s a word).

I, too, have used the Dirt Road/4x4 trail street type for the section through the water. It seems the obvious thing to do as it implies “use it with care and at your own risk” as it depends on the depth of water and the vehicle you have that determines whether you get through or end up stuck calling your rescue service and insurance company.
Until Waze come up with a specific road type, which I sincerely doubt will ever happen, it’s the best fit from what we do have.
Perhaps it’s only in the UK that we call it a ford? Certainly, I’m sure there must be hundreds of similar river crossings around the world but maybe they don’t get called fords except by us Brits

As a TT driver I’d encourage all editors to map fords or other non Tarmac roads as “dirt road/4x4 trail”.
I really don’t want to have to do a U-turn or damage my car!
As you can probably guess I have the “avoid dirt roads” option set in my client!

I would also be interested to know thoughts about placing a landmark to highlight the hazard, although that may be redundant once the road type is set to dirt. (I can’t remember, is ‘avoid dirt…’ on by default? Casual users may be unaware of the option.
I would name the section of road as “FORD”, with an appropriate water landmark running across it. Additionally, there will be sign posts to alert drivers.

I had to look it up. I assumed the OP was referring to the American car (FORD=Found On Road Dead). 
I’ve seen this once where the water flows over the road at certain times, and the signs while approaching it warned of a spillway. However that term isn’t specific to water flowing over the road, and its possible that the term ford is used in other places in the US where they are more common we just tend to put bridges over everything.
Name the hazard whatever the locals will recognize.
BTW, Dirt Roads are set to Avoid by default.
