How to view list of directions?

Hi,

On the iphone 4, after I begin my trip, is there a way to view a list of navigation directions so I can have an idea about what streets are upcoming? Thanks for the help.

I think this was removed in the latest version. Several folk on here have expressed a wish to have it back!

I thought I remembered it being there before the update. Would really like the navigation list back, very helpful to have.

As said, it has been removed in Waze 3. Some of us complained about this during beta testing. A HUGE oversight by Waze.

How can I delete the new version 3.0.0.0 and get the last version 2.4.0.0 back on my ipad 2 ? I want the navigation list back?

If you have not sync’d with iTunes since you upgraded, and you did sync with iTunes after you installed 2.4 - the 2.4 program file will be in the iTunes Apps folder. Otherwise if you are on Windows (don’t know about other platforms) it may also be in the recycle bin.

Search the web and you should be able to find the procedure to restore the older version. Something like:

  • Back up the 2.4 file somewhere out of the iTunes folder structure
  • Remove Waze 3 from your iPad 2
  • Sync with iTunes
  • Manually copy the 2.4 app into iTunes
  • Sync again

Caution, these are not the exact steps. If you screw up the order and don’t have a backup of the 2.4 application file, you are going to get stuck. You can only download the latest version from the Apple App Store.

Also, regarding the missing navigation list. Here is a possible workaround:

  • When you set a route, when the screen pops up with the route details and ETA, etc - click on routes
  • You can then see the available routes and estimate what turns you will need to take by the route

Sure, not a text list, but you can get an idea of the route is valid or not.

Waze 3 is really a nice upgrade. Depending on how you are using the route list, may be better just to forget about it for now :shock:

Thanks for the quick reply. I deleted the new version from my ipad 2 and then synced the ipad to itunes and the older version 2.4.0.0 was synced to my ipad and it works. The navigation list was restored. I like to use this to check my routes. Maybe they will add it to the next upgrade. Now I have to careful not to upgrade the waze program again.

I would use this much much more if it had a navigation list I could read before the start of my ride. I need to have a general sense of the route and scrolling out on the map to get a long view is just unruly.

Yes the list view needs to be an option. I believe this is the only feature that keeps me from using Waze exclusively. Currently I still use other navigation systems just for this feature. Waze does everything else better than any other navigation system

It’s in the iPhone and should be in the next version for Android which adds features and not just bug fixes. (The latest Android release was just bug fixes.)

I have version 3.1 for the iPhone, but I don’t see how to view the list of directions. How do I do that?

  • When on route, press the button to bring up the Waze Menu.
  • You will see the settings menu with 9 options. Flick the entire menu to the left and you will see additional menu options including the Nav list.

Is there any way to move the icons around so I can put the ones that are more important to me on the first screen of 9 icons, such as the list of directions?
