From what I understand, in previous versions of Waze you could access a text list of upcoming turns. Has that feature been removed? On every GPS I’ve ever used this feature has been present, and I rely on it to get an idea of what’s ahead before I start driving. If you live in a big city, or a city with a lot of traffic, then knowing that you’ll have to turn left or right onto the street that your destination is on is really useful if that information can be accessed before you start driving – without having to drag the map all over the place to actually see it. This is especially true if you have a very short distance between turns at certain points. As it stands, without this feature I find myself missing turns and having to double back or take a longer route because I didn’t have that information before Waze thought I needed it.
I’ve looked through the features, but I don’t see the direction list anywhere. If it’s there can someone tell me how to access it? I’d really appreciate it. If not, then does anyone know why it was removed and how and where I could go about requesting it be considered in an update?
If something makes it to the beta releases, I’d think there is a strong chance it would be in the next public release. Only reason it wouldn’t is if there are major problems.
There is no schedule for releases though. Could come out tomorrow, could come out 6 months from now.
To see the navigation list, In version 3.9 (maybe on all versions) when on the navigation page (map), at the top of the screen should be a large black rectangular box showing distance to next move. Click on top right corner of that black box and it switches to text directions. Click again and it toggles back to the map! Hope this helps; stay safe!
