Hello everyone! My name is Ethan, I am a new editor in the Lexington, KY area. I have been completing the waze academy courses and stumbled across something which I do not think is correct, but I wanted to post it here before I suggested a place change.
The question is: Is this residential place point (RPP) necessary?
From what I understand, an RPP is only used when the entrance to a residence is on a different street than that of its address. This home appears to have an entrance on the same street as its street address, so I don’t think it is necessary for there to be an RPP at this location.
This is not strictly necessary for navigation. However, anyone can add this for their home. You can add photos to an RPP that will be displayed when someone arrives at this address.
Yes, as @Lowiekse said, as long as the RPP and the HN both route correctly to the same place, then both can remain on the map. If the RPP was placed to correct bad routing on the HN, then the HN would be removed.
In case you don’t know, Kentucky is in our South Atlantic Region (SAT) and you can join the SAT Discord Server to get help and mentoring from all the local editors in your area.
