Full closure of the B7 from the Jena Isserstedt roundabout to Jena

Hi Tobias,
thanks for your report. How long is it closed there?
Hi Ingo,
until August 14, 2026. The reason given is the resurfacing of the federal highway.
The detour goes past Globus from the roundabout (heading south) and then left onto Großschwabhäuser Str. towards the village of Isserstedt. The road originally ended shortly before the B7 intersection, but has been temporarily reopened because of the construction work.
It seems the state has a bit of money left over, at least that’s my impression. The road there isn’t actually that bad at all.
That was quick. ![]()
However, Waze is now “detouring” over a wide area.
Officially, the detour goes through here, at least into the town of Isserstedt and further towards Apolda.
This section used to be an intersection and was turned into a “dead end” with a guardrail, and has now been reopened because of the construction site.
Ah Tobias, I see. Now it’s getting tricky. Since I’ve set a closure there, I can’t get the road connected. If I connect the road now, I won’t be able to set a closure there for two days because a so-called maptile update is required. ![]()
So, basically a chicken-and-egg situation. So, lift the closure from the roundabout to the intersection so the GPS can at least calculate the route? Let’s just say there’s bound to be signage for the detour, and people will be able to find their way through.
Exactly. That’s what I’ve done now as well, and in two days after the tile update, I’ll fully reinstate the closure.
I just reconnected the road.
