I’m trying to get rid of TTS saying “keep right” when it is in fact a turn right.
Example: https://world.waze.com/editor/?zoom=7&lat=52.55181&lon=-2.0969&layers=BFTFTTTTTTFTTTTTTTTTFT
As you can see, the segment is angled from the node with I would have though would have stopped TTS from saying “keep” and say “turn” instead. However, client and live map still says “keep”.
I edited this over a month ago to fix this.
EDIT: Just tweaked them again so last saved date has changed.
Also to note, I have been doing these angled turns to a lot of junctions.
Example, just edited this: https://world.waze.com/editor/?zoom=6&lat=52.58359&lon=-2.07911&layers=BFTFTTTTTTFTTTTTTTTTFT
As going straight on was saying “keep right” and turning left says “keep left”.
Is this the correct way to do this?
i’ve come across similar junctions in my considerably shorter stint as an editor, and decided to get rid of the ‘ramps’ alltogether, keeping the junction much simpler. as far as i understand the client will announce a right/left turn in good time for the user to get into the correct lane. therefore drawing in the turn lanes just complicates the junction/geometry and permissions… all in my humble opinion, of course! :?
For correct instructions, (at least these are my thoughts) you should angle the entrance to get a keep right/left, then angle the exit, that way you will get, keep right, then turn right.
So in the case of the one just posted https://world.waze.com/editor/?zoom=8&lat=52.58419&lon=-2.07862&layers=BFTFTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTFT&segments=122777746
These segment, should have a slight angle onto the exit road, then at least a 90 degree angle heading off the exit road.
But again junctions should be simple as possible, but this is the way I would do it if I had to have the exit roads and there were issues with instructions.
There’s a Junction Style Guide in the main Wiki that explains how it works…
