L4 - Junction remodel

Level 4 road needed a bit of junction remodelling as there were slip roads that meant it was a bit more complicated than the simple junction that was already there.

I’ve made an attempt (happy to be critiqued on this as still a beginner - please be gentle!), but one little cross-road needs a bit of a curve added to it.

Exiting Haydock Road, from A to B, that’s heading onto the A41(S), and the small cross-road needs a downward curve once it’s through the green cutting to join the A41(S) a bit further down from where it does now.

It might be because the A41(S) is locked at Level 4, or it might just be me being a bit dense!

EDIT: Also, with the new slip roads I’ve created, have I labelled these in the best way? Should they be “no street” or should they still be labelled as to the main road it is exiting? Also, should it be “street” or should it be a different type?

Hi Ian

Was nice to speak to you on chat the other day and well done for finding the forum and seeking advice

I’ve had a look at this junction. One of the aims of Waze is to provide as simple and clean interface as possible whilst also providing accurate routing and turn instructions. That involves mapping complex junctions as simply as possible whilst still providing correct turn instructions.

This junction does not really need additional slip roads etc to be mapped, it’s sufficient as it was to provide the necessary instructions without over complicating the map so I’ve reverted your changes back (sorry!). This junction also hasn’t produced any URs (user reports) complaining of inadequate instructions, should it do so in the future then maybe we could look at some minor changes.

Regards

Steve
