This segment popped up as an MP today. I can see it was an L1 who created it, so it’s understandable, but my question is more regarding what’s allowed at this junction. The approach from Nursery St says left or right, with right being restricted to taxis and buses. I’m guessing that taxi drivers will already be making the slightly awkward manoeuvre across Lady’s Bridge and onto Blonk Street, whether that is legal or not (I can’t see anything to suggest it isn’t) and technically speaking to take Blonk St you do have to take the right turn first.
So I was going to move this segment to join up with Blonk St and enable the turn onto it with restrictions, but then it needs an L4 editor to do that, so thought I’d ask a second opinion at the same time
I believe this junction is mapped correctly, as in turn restrictions, if you delete the new segment.
Based on the directional sign on Nursery Street it is not intended for anyone to drive into Blonk Street and I don’t think we should be encouraging it. The shape of the kerbline and the existence of the cycle only lane also suggest this.
I have downlocked Lady’s Bridge as the left turn is currently ‘keep left’ which could be misinterpreted to mean straight on. Even though this is Buses & Taxis only it’s be nice to have it right.
Cheers. Yeah I did think the kerbline looked like it would be a struggle for buses (not that waze cares about it). Had a look at the gps traces and it looks like some are going straight onto Blonk St but I’d probably agree that Waze shouldn’t be providing a route to it. Taxis will just do what they want and then it will auto re-route.
