Request AM area
As I told yesterday in a different topic, the process for requesting a new Area Manager Area is changed. For expanding the current areas, the same applies.
In a few days (depending on Waze HQ), we will put a form online for requesting or expanding your area. These request are being assessed.
All new editor’s are getting a senior AM of CM assigned as a mentor. These mentors will check, support and teach the new editors. As soon the mentor thinks the editor has enough experience, a request for a bigger area is allowed.
We will also contact ALL existing AM’s by email or PM’s. Please anwer this PM or email, otherwise you lose your AM rights of your area’s. As soon these email or PM is sended, you can find an announcement as a reminder in this topic also…
As soon we have all necessary info, there will be a map with all AM area’s with the username. We also want to add contactinfo to it, but because of privacy, only with your individual permission offcourse…

Massive Unlock
Hi all,
All Waze Champs did discuss with Waze HQ about a temporary solution for locked segments, in combination with the new permission system.
What they are going to do is a massive unlock, except:
- Freeway
- Major Highway
- Minor Highway
- Ramps
Also roundabouts shouls stay locked, but we are not shure about that, because Waze announced this operation whithout to mention the roundabouts…
This mean that 1-way segments aren’'t locked anymore. The opinions about that are different. It’s possible the Waze automatic process is going to change directivities…So I would like to ask everybody to keep an eye on them, or if you want, relock them again. We can also do lots of them, but then you guys can’t edit them anymore. If the automatic Waze process changed segment, you will see the username ‘admin’ as last editor, with level 6.
In the announcement you can also see the whole permission system is going to change in the (near) furure. As mentioned in my previous announcement, AM system is also going to change. Waze is now cleaning up some unused areas…As soon that’s done, we can start with the new system, and try to get a country wide coverage…So it could be we have to change some existing areas also…

Feed the Waze
Some time ago we announced the Feed the Waze system here.
Since a few days this system is open for public.
You can register yourself as a reporter at http://feedthe.waze.hu/
Use your Waze username also as FTW username!
Most important is to give short and clear reports.
After you reported an event, a Feed Manager (FM) has to confirm your report. Maybe in a later stadium, we can give FM rights to some of you…As soon you reported an event, please post a message in the FTW topic, because there are no official FM for Belgium at the moment, so we have to confirm them. We are not continuesly monitor the FTW system…
If you have any problem or questions, post them in the FTW topic…
AM Area request
The new way to request a new area, or to expand it is changed as I told before.

New Country Managers
Since a few days we have 2 new CM’s for Belgium. I would like to introduce ‘deeggo’ and ‘vosjer’ to you all. Some of you allready now them I think. For our French speaking members, I have good news. Deeggo will help you in French, Dutch and English. Vosjer is available to help our members that are speaking Dutch, English and German.
So from now on, you can post in the UR-Topic in the language you want. But keep in mind deeggo is the only French speaking CM for the moment. Your requests can take a little longer then you are used to…

Gasstations
Finally we can say the gasstation function is enabled for Belgium! By using a trick, we allready did some tests before it officially was enabled. If you encounter some problems or have a question, please open a new thread on the Belgium forum.
To report gas prices, open the report menu when you are at a gasstation. You find a new button instead of the pave function (Finally it’s gone 
).
For us the search function for categories worked also better…
But we didn’t check anything since it is official enabled…

AM area requests
I would like to inform everybody who requested, or who is going to request an AM area, about the delay in activating this areas.
We approve or reject your request within 48 hours. As soon we’ve done this Waze have to activate the area. Since 12th of November there wasn’t any action from Waze side. We’re checking what’s going on right now…

Area Manager Group
Hi everybody,
I would like to invite all Belgium Area Managers to Belgium Area Manger Group on Google Groups.
Area Managers who did register through the new AM area system and provided a Gmail account we allready send an invitation.
All other AM’s, please send a PM to one of us with a Gmail account so we can send an invitation to you also.
What are we going to do with this group?
First of all, we are going to use it for sharing a Waze Agenda. As an example, in this Agenda we will put things like roadworks where we did temporary changes to the map. At the expected end date we add an ‘appointment’ with info and a permalink. You can also set a reminder, so you receive an email before the roadworks are finished.
With this system we all have an idea of map changes for roadworks. And we all can check if it’s reconnected or changed on time to get live.
We also have the possibilty to easy send an email to all AM’s about special or urgent things, not instead of the forum offcourse. But people are reading their email earlier then PM’s.
In this group we can also discuss some topics we would like to keep out of the forum. I don’t expect this will happen a lot, but it could be…
In the future we also can share document through google drive, so these document are save from other visitors.
And what’s also possible is to add eachother to Gtalk. All CM’s are using it also. That could be easy for quick questions, a simpel unlock request, just some regular chat to get know eachother better, etc…And we can also discuss through Gtalk with a group of people…
Belgium WIKI page offline
The Belgium WIKI page is temporary offline due a complete restyle and update.
If you have any questions, where you need the wiki for, please ask us in the forum.
Belgium WIKI back online
The new Belgium wiki page is partly online in Dutch. It still need some finetuning and there is some info missing, but the basics are there…
We are urgent looking for help translating the Dutch to a French version…Please let us know if you think you can help us with it!
AM areas
As most of you know, we started this year with a new system of managing AM areas. More info you find in the ‘Request Area Manager permissions’ topic.
All areas from AM’s that were added in 2012 or earlier will deleted! We did send a PM to all existing AM’s with this info some time ago, and also send an email to all the AM’s that are member of the AM group. I’m surpised we still missing some of the regular users.
In our plans all old areas were allready deleted, but we did delay this because of the missing editors. We kindly request all users that didn’t request a new area, to do this as soon as possible! Comming week we will start deleting to finish the migration process.
