Could someone update the closures on the Alexandra Bridge? The Quebec-bound lane will be closed until May 2017, except from Monday to Friday, between 2 pm and 7 pm, where the Ontario-bound lane will be closed.

  • Lane closures during repair work on the Alexandra Bridge from October 3, 2016, to end of May 2017

  • The regular Gatineau-bound lane will be closed to traffic during the project.

  • The regular Ottawa-bound lane will be open to Ottawa-bound vehicular traffic except:

  • From Monday to Friday, between 2 pm and 7 pm, when it will be used for Gatineau bound vehicular traffic

Unfortunately we are not able to close individual lanes on a road, so we would not be able to apply these closures.

This bridge only has two lanes (one in each direction). Does that change anything?

Yes, in that case the closures can be applied. Can you please report the closure via the closure form in the “construction and other closures” forum thread. For a closure of this duration and complexity with direction changes it will need to be applied by staff and they monitor that form.
