Can we revise your system, and edit the request?

?
On many maps, we’d see “Arterial” with “major” and “minor” or “primary” and “secondary” – that’s what we’d use to split the MH from the mH.
I’m just worried the arterials will look funny when they hit the neighboring municipalities, as most are using mH (from memory, not at a desktop anymore)
Otherwise, I’m open to this!
that can mean we need to adjust those neighbouring municipalities.
Also, there’s nothing saying one municipality hasn’t connected its secondary arterial to a neighbouring primary arterial…

Hey, after reading your post more carefully, I realized that there are no sub-categories for arterials in Port Moody. It’s one of the smaller towns, with only 2 streets considered to be arterials! (Also, this would put Arterials at the same level as Highways passing thru)
Also, like I said before: it matches with neighbouring Coquitlam if it is mH!
These are purely my thoughts on the topic
I’m wondering if we don’t need to upgrade more of Coquitlam’s to MH, though. Take a look at Edmonton or Victoria (proper – not all of Greater Victoria) for examples where they defined both major and minor arterials. You’ll see it’s pretty red.

I guess I’m just getting used to the new feeling of having MH for non-highways
Seems like the whole GVRD could use more MH’s then! (except maybe North Vancouver & Langley haha)
Edit: I feel like MRNs are actually the same level or higher than Arterials (at least in Port Moody). How about like this?
