Reason for request: Not sure how best to handle temporary closure of gas station. Suggestions? Also the place is L4.
Humph! Shouldn’t have been locked at all whilst missing the address and other details. :roll: I’ve downed it to 3.
What I have done quite successfully in the past (before we had all these place details and they were called Landmarks), is to copy all the relevant information into the “description” field and then change the place type. It looks like, with the current version of Waze places, the only information that would be lost is the fuel brand.
I would suggest you enter something like “Shell Station closed until November” into the description field, then change the category to “Construction Site” from the “Other” category heading. That way the place is still there with all the information preserved and can be changed back fairly easily.
Under the old Waze landmarks system, this had an additional bonus. If the place already exists, then changes to it’s details took effect in the app immediately (without an update). Presumably the app only lists the element ID and looks up all the details whilst it’s running. That means you might be able to turn it back into a petrol station the moment it re-opens - presuming you know when that is. :lol:
