My Level: 2
Reason for request: L4 lock and update with LG
I don’t know which exit they’re referring to. The UR is reported in the middle of highway.
If it’s referring to the Central-Wanchai bypass fork, the current setting is:
Total 4 lanes, two lanes continue IEC, two lanes onto bypass

Later in Exit 6B, also 4 lanes, left to Exit 6B, second lane to Happy Valley/Kowloon C, right two lanes to Central/Kowloon(W):

If third lane is to Happy Valley , that means two lanes to Exit 6B? I really doubt it. ![]()
I think it is a 2,2 LG and change to a 3 , 3 LG after the WaiChai Bypass junction
It should be 3 lanes with left lane having a exit.
4 Lanes is only valid when the construction lane is reopened

what you do mean by 2,2LG and 3,3LG? I don’t understand
So is the UR caused by construction lane reopened? Any youtube videos showing how the layout becomes after construction?
Before this current layout, Exit 6B was drawn alone as the left lane exit, the Happy Valley one is some 150m after the exit 6B, also left lane only in LG. Then some stupid drivers took the lane lane onto exit 6B when they were meant to take the Happy Valley lane.
In Waze, the LG tells the drivers to choose which lane when the countdown goes to zero. It is not the lane to choose when LG shows up. In Freeway, LG will show up 1km in advance, and lane layout could change within this 1km. I can understand, for those who are not familiar with the route, could take the left lane too early before the countdown gets to zero. Hence I combined Exit 6B and the Happy Valley into one node, with Happy Valley as second lane which is what you see in 3:30 of the video

If many people are used to ignore the countdown and report a UR for Waze’s fault, I guess what we could do is to add another LG inside the sound barriers, after the bypass exit and before Exit 6B.

This part is the 2 , 2 LG

Then the 3 , 3 LG after the Bypass junction

3 lanes LG before Exit 6B

3 lanes LG after Exit 6B
So what’s your suggestion? Add another LG somewhere inside the sound barriers?
Yes, something like this

The UR reporter updated with a picture.

From the pic, there’s still 270m from where the Exit 6B split away, so the 4 lane should be correct as it will eventually become 4 lanes.
But I agree, since it can be confusing to drivers, let me add another LG for 3,3, so they don’t see the 4 lanes so soon.
I updated with 3,3 LG. Now I think the 4 lane LG can be omitted. If people get in lane when they see the 3,3 LG, it will be redundant to show 4 lane LG
