I added a parking lot roads for a business park with driveways to both N Lake Houston Pkwy and C.E. King Pkwy/S Lake Houston Pkwy. Those roads have Level 4 locks in place, so I am unable to allow turns to and from them.

Please add turn movements to the 4 points where the drives connect to the Level 4 roads. The northwestern driveway connects to a one-way segment, so will be right-in-right-out. The other three driveways should allow both right and left turns in and out.

All added roads are visible in the aerial imagery.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the updates. I’ve connected the roads and enabled the turns. It’s hard to tell from the images, but it looks like there might be fencing, or a gate on the South entrance off of King. Can you confirm if it is a restricted entrance? Or is it fencing there from when they were building? Thanks

Thanks for updating this. The gate was placed to reduce theft and dumping during construction. But that does bring up the question of what happens if the occupant decides to permanently gate the drives. A brief look at protocols for handling gated areas in the wiki tells me it’s a fairly complex topic.

I’ll be sure to seek advice if it happens.

It can get complicated depending on the needs. If it’s a simple gate that allows exit only, we’d put a junction node near the exit and turn between that node and King to one-way. If it allows two way, but you require a badge, we’d set it as a private road, but that has adverse affects on routing due to penalties applied. For now, unless they change their mind, we’ll leave it as a parking lot road and assume folks can access the buildings from the South as well.

Thanks!

This is a recurring issue for Google and airports. Google (and GMM supervisors, for some reason) seems to believe that an airport’s navigation stop should be located at the dead airport centre. It is easiest approached from my local airport by a road to the cargo terminal, which clearly ends in a closed fence. You have to travel a 15 km loop around the airport via city traffic to reach the current passenger terminal. In this question (for years, at least one local to me), we (wazers, camps, and administrators) have been struggling with Google and it’s never been fixed to date.
