The physical division for the ramp actually starts further upstream than that. See the dashed line between the #3 and #4 lanes? And yes, traffic does back up there often. Notice the 50 MPH speed limit?
As per the wiki on naming exit and entrance ramps, the leading “to” is unnecessary when the name starts with an explicit “Exit XXX” so I’ve not incorporated that suggestion. Also, in street view I can see the words “Downtown Oakland” on the BGS, which the previous editor of this segment abbreviated to “Oakland”, so I have kept that in the name – what was the rationale for suggesting it be dropped? However, I have gone ahead and added the “to SR-24” at the end as per the BGS, good catch.
I’ve also modified the left branch as per your proposal, but added Berkeley, since it appears on the BGS. Did you omit it from your proposal intentionally? What was the thinking there?
I’m not going to fuss with the placement as this is a critical artery for a large part of the Bay Area, I’m guessing it sees a few thousand Wazers a day, and unless there’s good evidence it’s broke I ain’t gonna fix it
Glad to help. Just curious, the forum engine is not showing either one of those. I believe someone said that occasionally the forum engine fails to mark thanks and resolution even though one selects them. Did that happen here? This is not to insist on ceremony but rather just to know if the forum engine has got a hiccup somewhere.
