I checked the Live Map and it’s been updated, and it’s showing a street I added. However, on the Waze app (iPhone); the road isn’t there. I did do a map refresh.
Is this a common occurrence?

It’s on the Live Map; but does not show on the app.
To clarify, do you see it on Live Map: http://www.waze.com/livemap and/or do you see it in the Waze Map Editor: http://www.waze.com/editor ?
I believe that you have just added the street in the Waze Map Editor. Changes in the editor are not immediately available on the Live Map or in the Application. Changes up to March 7, 2012 are available in the Live Map and application. (US and Canada)
The last update date at the bottom left corner of the Live Map is the date that map edits are updated to.
I made the changes the middle of February… The road is there on the live map and the editor. It’s just not there on the iPhone app.
Ok then. I suggest referring this to Waze support so that they can investigate.
Yeah , the app updates every 4-6 weeks at the moment , if it’s in the livemap and not the app contact support

Someone remenbes the [SUPPORT] (WORLD) MapUpdate leaves client’s livemap FUBAR and few others on the topic, started in November 2011? Some segments were built differently on the client tiles than on the LiveMap (and routing?) tiles. Support claimed having fixed it back then (maybe just the resopnsible bug in SW), but the broken segments were never repaired on client map tiles. Support did never respond to the problem any more.
Now there are this and a few other similar threads about different segments on client and LiveMap (anf routing?) tiles - Confusing road segment (Major Hwy -vs- Freeway), NA map update is happening!. I keep my fingers crossed for you, that this time both SW bug and missing/wrong segments get repaired.
As of yesterday, all of the missing updates from the past couple of months seem to be fixed on the NA server.

Hello, this is my first post (and am a newbie Waze map editor).
Searching the forum for the issue I’m encountering, I stumbled upon this thread. I hope it’s ok that I just “hijack” this thread!
The issue in my case is very similar –

however, the problem is that in the iPhone Waze app, all such recent edits are not showing (what can be seen is the edit I made late last year, which is far less detailed than the most recent edit).
Please note also that the land mass is not showing in the Live Map accurately. The southernmost roads and trails are displayed as being in the water already. The shape of the island is actually defined by that peripheral walking trail that goes around the island. Is there a way that the land mass being shown in the Live Map be made more reflective of the actual physical land mass, as can be seen in the Google Earth map that Waze uses in editing?

The map tiles on your device update when you set a navigation route through that tile, or force a tile update. Tiles also update occasionally on their own, but only when your device thinks they are old enough to check for an update. To force an update Menu->Settings->Advanced->Data Transfer->Refresh Map of My Area.
