This is a highly irresponsible lock…the red arrow is most certainly allowed. This segment being locked when it is incorrect does nothing to improve the service. Thank you!
Fixed, Just asking for the unlock or fix will do. We all make mistakes.
Many thanks, and I apologize for being frustrated. There have been many errors in the OKC area in the past few weeks, and it seems it is due to too many locks. Locking every road means nobody can correct errors. In this instance, an error was indeed reported by a user due to the incorrect information. Again, I apologize I let my frustration leak out and thank you for making the needed correction.
Sorry about that. If you find any more please PM me directly. I only lock roads that are high value or roads where they are different from the aerial, or where people continuously split roads that should not be split.
I know, was in same boat last year. Other than spending time typing a request, most get unlocked pretty quick. Lot faster than level 6 locks.
There’s a couple reasons for all the locks. Way back when, the old system would make changes on turn restrictions automatically unless they were locked. Also, if people were constantly changing road types, splitting and unsplitting, etc, they got locked to prevent this. You can raise a lock level inadvertently if the road was locked at level 1, I come along and clear some intersection issues, hit save and the level jumps to my level 5.
As for your ramp, we always set the strait thru from ramp as restricted to stop off and back on routing. I think out of habit of doing this, is why that strait across was restricted. But it is clear that you need that allowed to get to destinations from there. I have had a few in Chicago that I did that too till I saw all the flags. At least the changes only take a couple days to go live.
Well on that particular intersection I was getting URs saying that Waze was thinking that they were going on the ramp instead of going straight through. So I tweaked the geometry of that ramp to push the ramp further South to try to prevent this. I also tweaked the off ramp node to be sure it got a exit right command and when doing the tweaking I disconnected the ramp and reconnected it accidentally and didn’t get the restrictions right forgetting it was not directly connected to another ramp beyond the service road.
I have been known to make that mistake and later go through and correct it.
Thank you both for the useful information! It has helped me understand some of the whys and wherefores. B-)
There is a lot of useful information in the forums and wiki
