Reviewing our statistics, the Local Champs have noted there is a large volume of Update Requests (URs) in Australia. There’s so many, we don’t have the people to manage them all, and the global policy on managing them isn’t meeting our needs.
The Update Request (UR) policy has been rewritten into Australia. It primarily features:
- Shortened life cycle
- Clearer expectations on timeliness of responding, how and when to reply
- Reduced the episodes where a reply to the user is required
- Dealing with abusive or inappropriate users
- A clear expectation on how long “self report” URs can stay open for.
The policy is now in a final draft form and open for review at https://wazeopedia.waze.com/wiki/Australia/Update_Requests_(URs), before going live 13 Sep 2021.
