Map Problems not scanning or showing in feed

@McLarenMCL38 thank you for all your input. Is there any chance you could link the thread you are referring to?

Best regards,
Olesya

It’s an email with Danit.

If you direct message me your email, I can send it or you can get it from Danit.

Thank you.

Hi @McLarenMCL38,

Thank you for your response. I have sent you a message and contacted Danit as well.

Kind regards,
Olesya

Another undetected disconnected highway node: https://waze.com/editor?env=row&lat=10.78535&lon=-0.14803&zoomLevel=18&segments=427491367,366802081

It has probably been sitting undetected since a new segments was created back in 2023.

This is in the outback, so I will leave it in the map for your automatic MP detection to eventually find it!

  • You actually get a message when saving saying that there are intersecting segments with same elevation. The problem is that WME doesn’t pinpopint where. When bulk editing a lot of segments I often get this, but finding the culprit can be the needle in the haystack.

This one has been an issue for a while.

Sometimes it loads and pressing the center icon works but it doesn’t show up all the time.

Found another bad connection on a “freeway” this time: https://waze.com/editor?env=row&lat=6.49419&lon=-2.50339&marker=true&zoomLevel=18&segments=380178833

This one is not detected when saving changes on one of the segments. WME seems very happy with it…

I would like to fix this one, Olesya. Please tell me when I can do (or you can fix it when you have analysed the case.)

Hello @CuttySpark @McLarenMCL38,

I’m sorry for the late reply here.
Thank you for all your input! For all these bad connections that have gone undetected, but got discovered after your examination, if you you would like to fix them as you find them, I’d suggest doing that, unless they are really minor ones with no impact on routing.

@McLarenMCL38, I have checked the status of your suggestion Update current MAP PROBLEMS scanning to disconnected nodes – Waze Suggestion Box - “Great timing! We’re currently working on it. Keep an eye out for updates on the WME.”

I will indeed keep an eye out and will make sure to let you know once further details become available.

WME currently doesn’t locate individual errors in case there are multiple instances of the same error type, therefore, this would need to be raised as a suggestion.

Please let me know if you have further questions.

Take care and regards,
Olesya

Thanks Olesya,
I tried to fix the one in my post from June 27th now. I connected the segments and made all turns allowed. When saving I get this rather helpless error message:

Instead of indicating where the problem is, WME expects me to note down these numbers and find the culprit? I will leave the map problem in for a few more days in case someone would like to look at it.

As far as I can see, the node was connected to the segment when I tried to save. I have undone all changes and left the node as it was.

Hi @CuttySpark,

Many thanks for your feedback.
This error is due to Junction nodes failing to generate. Please follow that thread to get notified when the issue is fixed.

Take care and regards,
Olesya

Thanks. The work around by dragging the node of one segment onto the other and changing the turns individually worked. Seems I fixed that junction now.

Hi, it seems there aren’t any new MPs generating since the end of last year. We usually get 10-20 new ones every week in the UK. Seems the same for other countries I checked - the only new MPs are for road closures. Has the scanning been disabled?

Hi @tbrks,

Thank you for flagging this issue. I’ve raised an internal case to look into it. I’ll keep you posted.

Hi @tbrks,

Just a quick update: the issue has been fixed by the team, all MPs should now be showing in the issue tracker.

Best,
Olesya

Thanks for the update. I actioned what came through in the issue tracker last night but all the issues were actually fixed before the new year. Will any further issues be picked up in the next scan on Saturday morning?

I’ll check about that with team as I’m not too sure how when/how often these scans are performed.

And please let me know once you see some fresh and actionable MPs.

Thank you for your confirmation @tbrks! I’ll mark this issue as fixed now. If you come across it again, I’d suggest opening a new report for better clarity (we’ve had multiple issues discussed in this thread ).

@McLarenMCL38 just to close the loop here, your suggestion to Update current MAP PROBLEMS scanning to disconnected nodes – Waze Suggestion Box is being tracked and prioritized internally.

All the best,
Olesya
