I can’t this problem. On the app between these two segments (A end of each road), draw a diagonal line between them and the area in-land (approximately 1/2 mile) is filled with water. Yet on WME the coast line is correct?? It’s quite surreal driving into water that isn’t there!
Your help is appreciated in solving this one.

Did you have URO hiding notes? iainhouse left a note on Station Rd about this very thing.
It’s not uncommon - the whole Isle of Wight used to be “underwater” and now I’m editing in Jamaica too, I’ve discovered that most of the north coast is similarly affected. I reported that to Waze Support a few weeks ago and received a response (well, three identical responses!) this morning, saying
I know how long a Waze “soon” can be - “may take some time” sounds much longer!
The coastline you see in the app and the Livemap comes from some other source, not the “sea” places.
Meanwhile, I’m working with Waze to fix the coastline.

Only if you can help to repeatedly re-locate a wet fish at high speed into the face of someone at HQ, until they actually use the data Tim has given them. :lol:
Mind you, I think he first supplied them with the complete data for UK county borders some time in early 2013 - and look how long it took us to get counties! :roll:

How did you do that? I don’t really understand “geospatial” and how you can define something like a coastline to a specific level of accuracy - isn’t it a bit like fractals, and the closer you look, the more detailed it becomes?
Coastlines are fractal, the closer the observation level the longer they get. It’s pretty much like the zoom levels in the app, the further out you zoom the less detail you get.
The geospatial data, is a basic vector of the coastlines as defined by the OS. Basically a big line drawn round the outside of the island at mean mean sea level. It does increase in detail as you zoom in but it really doesn’t need to be that accurate as the app would strip most of the detail out anyway.
Geospatial is just a fancy term for Lat Lon grid reference.

Yeah, basically what Pip said. I downloaded the “shape” of our coastline from Ordnance Survey, converted into coordinates that Waze would understand (i.e. not Northings and Eastings), and sent it on to them. That was over two years ago, though admittedly they did have to rework the whole infrastructure before they could accommodate it.
The data isn’t really fractal, it just gets simplified when zooming out.
