Mapping Walking Trails

I have just noticed these segments that look as if they have been paved by a person walking: https://www.waze.com/editor?env=row&lon=153.07661&lat=-27.66741&zoom=5&segments=353582127,353582122,353937585,353582132,353582131,353582129,353582123,353582124,353582125,353582126,353582128,353937586

Are walking trails such as this one meant to be added to the map?

Sorry for leaving this for a while. The segments that were created have been left unchanged since they were created. Should I try contacting the editor who added them to see if they can be removed or should I remove them?

I usually leave them in place, as someone will just pave them again in the future.

Best set them with a city name, walking trail type, and triple check that they do not join or cross any road segments.

Edit: If you find any parallel to a road though, delete them, as we don’t want to accidentally have drivers snap to a walking trail.

Just an update: it looks like there has been an update to the editor which separates walking trails from roads by using a drop down menu. I’m not sure what this means in terms of supporting walking trails, but it appears that we are no longer able to change a road type to a walking trail type or otherwise. This becomes a big issue for cases where people have used the pave function in the app to map as it stores all trails as street. Should all affected road segments be deleted and redrawn considering the changes that have been made to the editor?

Do we have an “expert in Walking Trails” or would that come under Glomp’s/Area Manager/State Manager department?

Short of having an alert pop up whenever people are using Waze which warns people against paving while travelling under 10-20km/h, I think that we’re stuck with the potential for more trails turning up as streets. By separating roads and walking trails how they have, could that mean they intend to set Waze up so that the current issues with walking trails are overcome (such as drivers being sent along walking trails if the segment is closer to the destination)?

I believe that Waze should remove the option to add walking trails in the editor or to make it a higher level needed to create them
