Can someone point me towards a resource somewhere which explains MTEs in a way which will help me to understand more about implementing them and what the benefits are? Having just set up yet another bunch of road closures in Chester for two days of the Races this weekend, using events for this kind of thing is something I feel I ought to be doing - but I need some guidance to get my head around it.
There is this if you haven’t seen it already: https://wazeopedia.waze.com/wiki/USA/Major_Traffic_Event
Thanks, could be useful. Should’ve looked beyond the UK Wazeo, I guess!
Benefits in the editor include:
- being able to see all the closures highlighted together
- a list of editors who have created/nodified closures for the event
Benefits for the user is a pop-up message in the app warning them of closures in the area
Here’s one i’ve set up in Scarborough permalink, you can compare the differences to a normal closure.(unavailable attachment: coast 10k.png)
Jon, have yours been approved? Mine all seem to be “Pending” and never seem to change. The below 3 have been created by me, some last year, all still Pending.

Having just had a go at my first MTE, I think you have to go back into the MTE itself within the Events tab and actually submit the MTE once you’ve added all the closures.
This is what I did and mine is showing as “ready”.
…thanks.
