New York UR Stats

Happy Thanksgiving all!

Over the last month or so, Johnsninja58 and I have been working on a project to bring to the NY editing community. This project as mentioned in the title is New York State UR-MP Stats broken down by region. This project replaces Craig’s old stats but unlike Craigs, this is not by county its broken down by generic regions within the state. In the sheet we have a Stats page which displays all regions within the state ordered in Top 10 (NYC Regions are separate) based on UR count and % change between scans and also lists the Top UR Closer within the state.

The Stats highlighted in GREEN show a reduction in UR’s from the last scan, the stats highlighted in RED show an addition in URs since the last scan. Each region also has its own individual tab that populates that regions stats broken down to total UR’s, how many were closed, how many were closed as SOLVED/Not Identified as well as the Top 3 editors for that region based off Best UR Closer, Best MP Closure, and Best Pipelette (UR Responses and Map Comments).

On top of the stats sheet listed above, the entire processes is automated once the data is dumped in by the approved editors (Right now its just Ninja, OrbitC, PesachZ, and myself), it takes the raw data we input and automatically breaks it down into the appropriate locations within the sheet. Once the data is dumped in, it will then push the statewide stat info right into the New York Discord channel so everyone who wishes to keep track of their region or the state can be alerted when new data is populated.

As of right now after discussion with leadership its been agreed upon that these scans will be every 6-7 days or so as to not lose data when UR’s disappear from WME. As of this posting (some of you may have noticed it already in the NY Discord channel) this project is now live for all to access. Should anyone have questions or feedback (there are still minor bugs we’re working out) by all means feel free to reach out to Ninja or myself either via Discord or this forum posting.

I would like to give a HUGE THANK YOU to Johnsninja58, despite him denying most of the help, this project would not be without his help. I would also like to give another HUGE THANK YOU to PZ for working with us to get scripting done to push all this data into Discord via webhooks (Really he did all of it on his own in the time it would take me to make a cup of coffee…). Also a thank you to OrbitC, Jay (Rfrsw101), JD (JDelosa), and Brent (Joyriding) for assisting us during the final testing phases and the final tweaks and also to Craig (ShadowMasterCM) for the baseline of this project from his original one.

Dan, thank you and you have done a great job. As many are aware the URs are really one of the more profound ways we edit since it is one of the few ways the end user can look for assistance with fixing the map.

The New York State community does a great job and looking back to older stats we had over 20,000 URs just under 2 years ago. I hope with these stats again we can help identify areas that need more TLC. Long term we might be able to do more data analysis.

And of course remember it’s not about closing URs the goal is to solve where possible so I often look just as much at the number remaining as I do at the solve percent. Keep up the good work and I echo Dan thanks to everyone who has helped contribute to this project.
