Non-Greek driving in Greece and struggling with the language

I’m sure the issue has been raised, although a quick search did not show anything.

I’m on holiday in Greece and rented a car. As a long time Waze user, I am using Waze to get from a to b. Or in this case, from α to β. Unlike Google maps or Apple
maps, Waze keeps using the Greek alphabet even if the interface language is not Greek. It does not make navigating any easier, especially in cities. The plus side is that I slowly learning to read Greek, but still, it is not practical.

In another Waze forum somewhere I read the comment on this issue, saying something like “Duh, Greek names while in Greece." Of course in any country local users should default to local names and alphabets. But it would make life so much easier if Waze would default to Latin if I set my language prefs to a Latin setting. Especially since almost all street signs I have seen (here in Crete) have added a Latin name as well.

Also, it makes finding a destination much easier. My hotel reservation has their address in Latin, but Waze needs the Greek version. So I have to do some complex copy/pasting to get Waze going every time. Room for improvement, I’d say.
