Old Clare St, Limerick City - Street Closures

Hi,

Reported this recently through the app but can’t see a UR in the editor so posting it here.

When following a Waze route, I was brought down Old Clare St to this junction:

Currently this is part of the construction site, visible in Google Aerial footage, which covers the following:

  • O’Sullivan Lane is entirely unaccessible.
  • Old Clare Lane is closed 5-10m back from the above linked junction.
  • Curry Lane is closed about 30m back from the above linked junction.

There is a pedestrian path maintained from Old Clare Lane to Curry Lane but vehicle access is blocked.

Can’t find the closure on Limerick councils website but here is a post about it on their X account:

The link to their site doesn’t work unfortunately.

Construction (or demolition it seems) doesn’t appear to be ongoing so don’t have any ideas on time frames on the closure.

Hi Shane,

Thanks for letting us know. I think we might have gotten a UR about this months ago but didn’t have the current aerial imagery.

I’ve added a closure on O’Sullivan’s Lane until at least the end of the month.
I’ve cut Curry Ln to the length of the closure, so shall have to wait for a tile build to add a closure to it, but in a day or two I shall add the same closure.

Do you happen to know what the X post said? I’m just getting an error whenever I try to follow the link.
