I’ve seen a few conversations about “police” reporting and some users wanting to report “moving” police. I think I have a useful alternative that should be very easy for Waze to calculate and adopt.
What do you think about “Police Hot Zones” where, if a certain number of police reports are made in an area in a given period of time, that area gets designated a police hot zone so that even if there are no police reports later on, users can decide to slow down a bit as a precaution under the knowledge that they’re entering a more heavily patrolled area?
If Section A of the highway gets dozens of police reports between 7p-12a on a regular basis, wouldn’t that be valuable information to WAZE users heading into that area? When the low threshold of reportage is breached the hot zone designation either disappears or changes colors or icon to reflect a significant shift in police activity there.
