I would like to suggest adding a link the Place Name Harmonization spreadsheets for all regions in the Places Wiki. I think the best location would be after When to use Area or Point section. It can be just a link to a sub-page titled “Place Name Harmonization spreadsheets” or what ever makes sense.
While a lot of regions/states may have their spreadsheet on their wiki page, several regions just state that they follow National Guidance on places and there is no spreadsheet. Having them all in one location will help with that and also with editors who assist in other states, including Map Raids.
Here is my personal wiki page that I utilize and can be converted to the wiki page if approved.
I normally just direct people in my region to the South Atlantic region’s wiki page, which has our PNH list on it. So, I am not sure this is needed for us, but if everyone else thinks it would be helpful to have them all in one place, I don’t think it would hurt anything.
I would do the same but not all regions have it listed plus for the people who edit in multiple regions, having a single location would probably be nice. The nice thing is that it is the same link as in our region wiki’s so it is updated automatically just like the region wiki. The only work once added is if regions change.
I think this is a good idea to implement for the reasons given and support your suggestion. SER has always had our sheet embedded in our wiki, but having a central location ensures quick and easy access to the information. Do to the length of the Places page I would make this a sub-page like your personal wiki page.
I agree. Having them all in one place makes it a sure fire “this is where all regions exist” thing. I like this idea. That way you don’t have to load every regions page to see what each region has listed. It’s all on one page.
