Good afternoon, my name is Alejandro Sanchez-Badillo and I am a Transportation Systems Engineer at Battelle Memorial Institute in Columbus,Ohio. We have been collaborating with the Federal Railroad Administration for the past 7 years in the development of a Connected Vehicle Application to inform a road user approaching a Grade Crossing of the presence of a train at the crossing. So far we have been using Connected Vehicle technology to broadcast this message to the user. We have proposed to the Federal Railroad Administration to use a mobile platform to broadcast the approach and presence of a train to road users approaching the crossing. We would like to start a conversation with Waze to understand if they would be interested in joining this project for a pilot program.
