Here in Portland Oregon we have a photo radar van. It sets up shop for the day in a particular spot (often parked illegally in my experiences). I generally flag it as photo radar. However the issue is that of course it moves.
Obviously someone has to remove it in waze when it no longer exists in the area marked. Is this efficient or should there be another way to flag/mark systems of this type?
I also want to thank AlanOfTheBerg for helping to resolve my map issue(s) with my home address that seem to be rather pesky
My community has a photo van that moves from location to location during the day depending on the traffic conditions. I issue a Live Police report and then use the comment section of the report to say it’s a photo van. This is an easy method that sends information quickly to Wazers in the area, and especially on the route. It also automatically expires and there is no need to take down the camera edit.
I’m not certain, but I believe camera edits do not appear on user devices until the next NA map tile update, which is generally around 10am PST / 11am PDT and that makes the update ineffective for reporting a mobile camera, aside from the need to reverse the edit afterwards.
