So, is it possible to get 73K points in the first day of the week? I don’t care if I’m top of the rankings this week, but I suspect there might be some map damage going on.
ETA: Also, this person isn’t on the top all time state user list, which starts as low as 149K points in Alabama so I very seriously doubt this is a really fast editor…
I’d offer that sometimes the points calculation is just plain messed up.
I’ve had my points surge by a similar amount on “Monday” – when in reality they weren’t calculated on Sat or Sun, so it looks like I did all the weekend editing on Monday.
Not to say there isn’t something hinky… but I’d suggest that it’s more likely in the backend than in the user’s actions.
I suspect it has something to do with the lack of drives, editing candies, and possibly other points that lasted most of last week. If you look at the entire top 50 for the U.S. last week, just about everybody on that list is unknown, and has unusually high scores.
I collected 9 editing candies yesterday and haven’t edited since Friday or Saturday. I also got several this morning. It’s all from last week when I didn’t get any.
I see in California this week there is a user named “usa_4vtq8vos” with 31K points so far this week. I thought these names were auto assigned for “unregistered” drivers? I see these often on reported Cameras (that are not there). But not that I think about it, are these real users that are listed as anonymous, because I don’t think you can use waze without registering, true?
Aren’t these users connected via FaceBook and therefore they have USA_xxxxx assing to them. I think thay can still edit. I’m not 100% though. I now you can search them and send them a PM.
We don’t allow USA_#### users to be area managers anymore. They can still edit within their driven areas.
The top user for this week (two days) is in Canada and now has 193,000 points. The bottom of the top 50 all time Canadians is only 200,000. So I assume this user had 0 points up until today.
I discussed it with JonyPony already, but they’re on a national holiday and he won’t be able to access the database until tomorrow to find out what’s happening.
I’m seeing the exact same problem on Utah’s scoreboard
Here
are the top three from Utah (I’m fourth with 13k points which is about right) only the top one of which I’ve even ever seen any edits by (that I recall) and I doubt he’s topped 10k points in a week before. They can have the weekly rankings and moods, that’s not a concern. Just want to make sure they haven’t gone crazy messing things up just to get points, or using some editing script that messes things up.
Okay, with regard to the scoreboard, I heard back from Anti-S-Crap and he says that nothing unusual happened on his dashboard.
According to the Michigan scoreboard, he has 459,414 points for the week, but it shows his total points overall as only 459,449. As a long-time editor, I would venture to guess that he didn’t receive any extra points, but somehow his score zeroed out and then came back, showing a huge jump in points that didn’t really happen.
I just tried it on a level 1 account and it only seems to be visible to admins. Now I understand why people have been saying the scoreboard isn’t there anymore.
