I’ve been reporting the major potholes in our neighborhood cause they’re baaaaad. Basically craters. But my reports didn’t last a couple hours and now I have to go around again and report them. Why did this happen?
Most hazard reports are temporary. If people give it a “Still there”, it will last longer, if they give it a “Not there” it will disappear more quickly.
This is to avoid cluttering the map with all sort of hazard reports since most hazards are temporary, like car on shoulder or object on road. Potholes can be longer term, but the best thing to do is report the pothole to your local government or keep reporting the hazard. Some municipalities gather data from Waze, so maybe the reports will help spur them to fix it.
Good to know and in reply about reporting to the city; we have. For months. They’ve ignored us. So this is our temporary solution to keep people from damaging their cars
I understand the basic rule so as not to clutter maps, but there are many places where “Government” does not exist and POTHOLES remain for years if there are ever fixed. In my case I report the same pothole every day and it is frustrating.
Waze should develop a list of the counties or municipalities with the most potholes, generating a kind of competition and maybe then it would move them to fix them. The one who wins on a monthly competition would be the worst manged of all. Just an idea.
