Problem changing street names

Can anyone advise how to solve this one. Its come up a few times now. I’ve created an example road here, I’ll delete it in a bit.
So WME won’t let me change this road name from Grove to Gr. It defaults back to the existing street name every time:

You need to hit ESC after you type the change, if you don’t WME thinks you want to accept the suggested named displayed below the address line.

There is also another workaround, and that is to type “St .” Notice the <space> after the t. When you save wme deletes the space.
