Hi everyone, after a few months of editing, I’ve realized that there are very few icons available when creating a place.
I imagine it might be difficult or isn’t being considered, but for example, having a few more icons always helps when viewing places in the editor—like hospitals appearing with an “H”, or pharmacies with their logo like in Maps.
Or, for instance, being able to differentiate between train and bus stations, or even being able to use the Metro, Cercanias, or Rodalies logos… to make the map more visual.
I don’t know if anyone else has thought about this or if it’s just me who finds it odd seeing a hospital with the same icon as a factory or a recycling center.
Just as we could consider having more categories, I know Waze belongs to Google and I’m not sure if suggestions can be made at a higher level, or if it’s just Spain that has so many limitations, but it would be worth looking into this.
Icons are not used in the Spanish community because if you are able to add them, it is due to a native feature of your PC or phone and not WME. The first point is that Waze does not support emojis, so we cannot guarantee they will function correctly. As long as this support is not provided, it means Waze does not support or want them, which is why we have decided not to use them in any case.
As andres_twins told you, the only remaining option is UserVoice to have it evaluated.

Thank you very much @JanKlaaseen, I was referring to when you add a place; when selecting the category, the points don’t vary much or at all. I know they don’t show up while you’re navigating because we use Maps to search for places like pharmacies, shops, or something specific, but maybe they should give Waze a rethink.
I’ll use UserVoice to propose it and see if it’s feasible to do.
