Hello,
I work for cal train and we would like to spot all the rail road crossings on the Waze. We tried to post thorough the app but it expires in 15 minutes as no others update the information. Please help us to spot all the rail road crossings and mark on the Waze for the safety of your users.
I’m not sure what you’re referring to. You want to mark when there is a train going through a particular crossing?
Did you put in this error report on the Waze map also?
https://www.waze.com/en-US/editor/?env=usa&lon=-122.22629&lat=37.48262&s=87552023&zoom=3&mapUpdateRequest=8474293
Please let us know what you are looking to do, and what you are looking to achieve…
Thanks.
I am trying to edit the Waze up in Main Street Redwood City. Where we have a rail road crossing meaning people who are using the road need to cross the railway track we are trying to update the information of this
Because people who ever uses the Waze app gets updated that they have rail road crossing. For the safety of the Waze users
I am trying to understand what you are trying to do. Adding a railroad in the Waze map does NOT notify users that there is a railroad crossing.
No notifications required but it will alert the user when they pass by
At least it show show there is an rail road crossing the map
Now when we see a camera at a signal light it gives the alert to the users that traffic camera is reported a ahead similarly we are trying to set up the same for rail road crossings.
I think you mean here? Where the railroad is mapped and has been since at least 2015?
Yes but can we add a symbol on the map so the users can see and recognize and add the alert as well when they pass by
We have more than 10 rail road crossings that require identification on the map
Are you referring to notification when there is a train coming or stopped on the tracks?
No for example:- I am the user and am driving along a road where there is an rail road junction it should alert me that there is a rail road junction ahead did you get it ?
That’s not something Waze does right now. You can search here for an existing suggestion or add your own. That’s something the Waze developers would have to create - most of us in the forums are Wazers like you who edit the map and not involved in app development.
In case I’m missing something, I’ve asked a couple of more senior editors to look at this thread. But there’s nothing I can think of that meets your needs.
Until something like that is implemented, drivers need to pay attention to the signs and signals around them to know there is a railroad track nearby.
Atlest can we edit the map and mark the rail road crossings,
But that’s my point…as far as I know, there is no other option in Waze that we can add to the map to indicate there is a railroad crossing. For what it’s worth, we would probably have a lot of annoyed drivers if Waze alerted them at every crossing and there’s no train.
I’m just not understanding why someone needs to be notified of every railroad crossing, every time.
Is there a high incidence of cars getting hit by trains in Redwood City?
