The segment of N 800 W should not be a primary street, but just a street. It’s official Functional Classification is Local street/Locally maintained.
Please unlock or correct. Thanks!
I’m not quite so sure about this one. The GPS points layer indicates that it is much more heavily travelled than the other Local streets adjacent to it. It does act as a collector for all those streets. Generally speaking, it is a better idea to use Functional Classification to raise the types of roads than to demote them, unless an editor has made an obvious mistake. The FC maps are not always up to date, and do have occasional oversights and mistakes themselves. I’m not presuming to make the final call on this, but I have reservations, so I’d be more comfortable with leaving that to a more local editor with the rank to unlock this.
That’s a good point. There are several restaurants along that segment, so maybe it is worthwhile to leave that as a primary street. I’ve changed the segment of this road down to Parrish Ln as a Primary Street so there’s some continuity at least through the heaviest GPS points.
I’ll carry this discussion on in our local forum and see what other people in the area think. Thanks!
