Realtime Alerts API

As a motorcycle rider, i feel that waze is not very convinient as i don’t get any sound, and do not have the phone on my line of sight because of distractions.

As a HW/SW developer i would like to make a hobby project, i would like to make a small display that i would put somewhere on my bike dashboard and display an icon for each alert on my route. i would be alerted by a sound/LED that i have a new notificationand show an icon on the dipslay. The phone would be on my pocket, connected to the device via bluetooth.
Is there a waze api, where i could get this alert data directly from the phone?

Thanks,

Hey there, I’m literally developing this exact type of hardware as we speak. Waze had a little backdoor that was open that I was using for months, but I think they just shut it off (it stopped working on my ESP32) :frowning: . I had gotten it working successfully and have created the casing for the device, and I am up to making the UI look nice and adding some cool features. That unofficial API still seems to work and sends back the JSON response via browser though. I’d love for a public API to be available so I don’t have to do the ol dodgy methods. If the Waze team sees this, I’d love to have a chat, I think you’d like it if you’re an OG NFS fan :stuck_out_tongue:

Give me 3-6 months, by then it should be finished. I’d need to contact Waze to even get it approved for API access. If that falls through, I’ll make it open source so you can build on yourself

I know this is super old, but thought this recent announcement for motorcyclists could be helpful:
