Can anyone advise on how to indicate the Changing The Guard ceremony in Windsor?
This is, in effect, a never-ending event with town centre closures every Mon, Wed, Fri and Sat. These closures DO affect traffic significantly in the area and so I want Waze to be wise to this.
Is it possible to add a schedule of event closures?
Or is it 4 separate events a week? (That seems like far too much work!)
I’m going to add a single event using the MTE form and see where we go from there.

As this is a never ending repetition I would’ve thought a Time-Based Restriction would work best, as long as the same roads are closed for the same time on the same days. The down side to this would be that the closures won’t be visible in the App but would save you creating the same MTE every few days.
Unless of course it can be added to an automated task that closes UK roads… say like ClosureMonitor.
The same problem occurs with Changing the Guard at Buckingham Palace. This is managed using Time-Based Restrictions which have to be checked monthly, as the schedule can change. It’s currently Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday (see schedule). It looks as though Windsor has it Saturdays instead of Sundays.
There is no way of indicating what these relate to other than in the comment text for the TBR. Waze won’t route along those roads during the closures and they won’t be visible in the app, as already noted, but then they don’t need to be visible in the app.
Another example of an event, although much smaller, is a town market that happens on the first Sunday of every month, and closes the roads through the town centre of Frome… I wondered if this needed some kind of timed restriction… but I don’t think there is an option to set “1st Sunday in every month”… is there any other way to do this other than manually every month?
Unfortunately, the only way of dealing with this is using restrictions or closures (if you want to make them visible in the app), and setting one for every 1st Sunday, with a reminder in your calendar to add the next one or 6 or whatever.
